Amplifying Student Service & Justice Projects Through Project-based Civics Learning at Loyola!

The Approach:

Loyola High School of Los Angeles partnered with Local Civics to launch an innovative civic leadership program for 300+ students taking part in a capstone service experience.

Outcomes:

Through the program, students built skills for authentic civic leadership, explored strategies to advocate for themselves and others, and developed a civic action plan to tackle a community challenge. In addition, 95% of students reported feeling empowered to impact their community.

“Since day one with Local Civics, I’ve learned how to identify my strengths and that it is my civic duty to use my strengths as a way to push forward my community and elevate the stories of those without a voice.”
